Gymnastic Dance

In 2018 the National Association of Teachers of Dancing (NATD) introduced a new syllabus. Which combines elements of dance and gymnastics together in working harmony.

The Gymnastic Dance syllabus is designed to develop strength, flexibility, agility, co-ordination and technique, incorporating gymnastic tricks with dance. This style of dance produces inspiring performances for the dancer and the audience, also introducing the use of ribbons, balls and hoops and tumbling movements. The work is designed to encourage all students develop confidence and dance quality together with increasing flexibility and mobility.

There are five Grades preceded by Class and Preliminary examinations, an Intermediate vocational examination and an Associate teaching qualification are also available.

The syllabus is validated by Ofqual and Ucas points are available for the Intermediate qualification.
